The Shikoku Pilgrimage is one of the most famous and spiritually significant pilgrimage routes in Asia, located on Shikoku Island in Japan. Known in Japanese as the Shikoku Henro, this sacred journey encompasses 88 Buddhist temples, each connected to the revered monk Kūkai (also known as Kōbō Daishi), the founder of the Shingon school of Buddhism in the 9th century.
