Our Lady of Guadalupe, located in Mexico City, is the most important and visited pilgrimage destination in the Americas, and one of the most significant Catholic shrines in the world. The site is dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, who is believed to have appeared in 1531 to Saint Juan Diego, an Indigenous peasant, on the hill of Tepeyac.
